So, after a little bit of searching and a whole lot of luck, I have found a beatmania cab for cheap… really cheap… Now that it has made it home, it is time to start cleaning it up.
Normally, I would post a bunch of photos of the cab, but since it is pretty nasty looking at the moment, I will leave it with a marquee snapshot and a brief list of what needs work.
To Do:
- Pull the entire cab apart and give it a good cleaning
- Replace microswitches for all the keys/buttons
- Clean the two turntables
- Tweak the monitor (some of the color at the top is off)
- Fix the sub light (assuming one is in there… it looks like one is wired in)
- Clean/repair burn marks from all the smokers
- Restore metal trim
- Upgrade to newest 5 key mix (if at all possible)
- Scan marquee for The BemaniArt Project
- Dump disk image of HHM:CM2
Apart from the dirt and the burns on the outside of the cab, most of the art and the game itself is in great shape. I look forward to being able to place this next to my DDR machine for a good Bemani combo… Now I just need a pop’n, drum/keyboard mania and a few others….
